20 years ago, APOB began as a loose affiliation of architects and planners meeting casually to discuss issues and challenges over beers. APOB now counts Boulder's most active and influential architects and planners as members. Our discussions have evolved and APOB is now formally engaged in City, County and Community design activities of all sorts.
APOB members remain concerned about problematic land use regulations and bureaucratic processes and work hard to support regulatory changes and process improvements necessary to quickly and effectively improve the built environment.
APOB members also support Boulder citizens, staff and elected officials by sharing specific expertise and experience with land use issues so that others may function more effectively when involved with complex land use problems and opportunities.
APOB members also meet with individuals and groups to help articulate community concerns and dreams through comprehensive long range planning, design charrettes, visioning exercises, community outreach and education.
APOB welcomes citizens, professionals and community leaders to participate in discussions, design sessions, happy hours, lunch roundtables and other forums to help articulate Boulder's future. Contact the steering committee to set up a meeting, big or small. APOB supports discussions about every big thing and every little thing, in any format that works.
Please contact APOB members with your thoughts. APOB is looking for "tipping points."

Membership Benefits: Members actively work to improve land use policies and practices, host community discussions, articulate ideas about Boulder's future and support others in doing so. Boulder's built environment is the prime beneficiary.
APOB also runs an email Listserv to allow group broadcasts and discussions. Members post items and spark debates. Joining APOB enables use of this email resource.
Membership in APOB is for individuals, not firms. Members are listed by name on APOB stationary and on the website. Members collectively advance various projects that individuals or firms might not accomplish alone. If you have good ideas, help APOB get them implemented.
